Eka Sunarwidhi Prasedya, Ph.D Visit The Marine Science Institute, University of the Philippines

Founder of PUI-Bioscience and Biotechnology, University of Mataram (Unram), Eka Sunarwidhi Prasedya, Ph.D visit to The Marine Science Institute, University of the Philippines on 7 – 12 February 2023.

The activity began with follow the World Expert Lecture Series The Marine Science Institute with Dr. Scott Fahrenkrug on 7 – 8 February 2023. The World Expert Lecture Series was talks about KaGE and ShinyKaGE. KaGE is a genome, trancriptome and proteome explorer for Kappaphycus alvarezii, meanwhile ShinyKaGE is an application for gene expression analysis, functional visualization and reporting for Kappaphycus alvarezii. The World Expert Lecture Series also take place with hybrid method and streamed live via Facebook, so that all PUI-Bioscience and Biotechnology Laboratory team can participate in this World Expert Lecture Series.

The activity continued with a visit Bolinao Marine Laboratory, The Marine Science Institute, University of the Philippines to transfer technology from Professor Michael Y. Roleda’s algae team and for saw firsthand the procedures of seaweed culture and hathery site in Bolinao Marine Laboratory.

This visit is part of a research collaboration between PUI-Bioscience and Biotechnology, University of Mataram and The Marine Science Institute, University of the Philippines in early 2023.
